Welcome to Trafford LINk
Local Involvement Networks (LINks) exist to give local people a stronger voice in their Health and Care Services.
Made up of individuals and community groups, the job of a LINk is to gather people’s views about local health and social care services, and work with the people who plan and run them to help make those services better.
Trafford LINk's vision is for a strong, active and diverse network that provides a positive and constructive challenge to local Health and Social Care Services. We strive to be well connected and well respected, earning our place at the heart of planning, commissioning and reviewing processes.
How Trafford LINk Works...
Gather Information & Identify Issues
By talking to local communities, people who use health and social care services, and people who provide, plan or commission services, Trafford LINk Staff and LINk Members can identify issues and concerns in local health and social care provision.
Issues and concerns can be raised at anytime by anybody. If you have any comments to make about health and social care services (negative or positive) contact Trafford LINk or complete a LINk concern form.
Prioritise Issues to Take Forward
All issues and concerns are considered by the LINk Committee who decide if the issue should form part of the LINk Work Plan. If an issue becomes part of the work plan, the LINk Committee will appoint a Task Group (consisting of LINk Members and members of the public supported by LINk staff) to look further into the matter.
Investigation, Recommendation, Feedback and Report
The Task Group will investigate the issue concerned by researching further information and gathering the views and opinions of Trafford’s communities. After this process the group will write a report recommending action for the service provider or commissioner to take.
Review and Oversight
The day to day working of the Task Groups are supported by LINk Staff and progress monitored by Sub Groups comprised of LINk Committee Members and other LINk Members. There are currently two Sub Groups, one looking at Health issues and one focussing on Social Care issues. Trafford LINk will also monitor the way service providers and commssioners use the reports and recommendations by holding regular Liaison Meetings with a wide range of Statutory Sector partners.
