What is Trafford LINk?
Welcome to Trafford Local Involvement Network.
Local Involvement Networks (LINks) have been set up across the country to help local people influence or change the provision and delivery of health and social care services in their area.
Trafford LINk is an independent network of local people, groups and organisations that provides a new way for people to get involved in shaping health and social care.
Trafford LINk was set up in January 2009. The Host for Trafford LINk is Voluntary & Community Action Trafford (VCAT). The role of the Host is to support the Trafford LINk in achieving its aims of better Health and Social Care in Trafford.
What does Trafford LINk do?
We gather local people’s views and experiences of health and social care services, such as hospitals, GPs, care homes and pharmacists. We identify areas for improvement; we advise the NHS and Social Services and make recommendations for change.
We aim to give local people a greater voice in improving health and social care in Trafford by:
- asking local communities, people who use health and social care services for their views, and we will work with the people who provide, plan or commission services to consider recommendations that have been put forward
- the way we will do this is once an issue as been identified a task group will be set up, made up of members of the public as well as LINk members and supported by the LINk staff team to investigate further.
- the task group will write a reported recommending action based on findings of the investigation, which will be used to campaign for improvement or change.
Trafford LINk activities
We do our work through activities such as, public meetings and events, surveys and opinion polls, research and interviews and we arrange visits to places where services are delivered
