Most of the work that Trafford LINk does will be carried out by task groups. When a task group is set up, it will be told what it is expected to achieve, but it is up to the task group itself how it carries out its work. Also, most task groups will be open to the public so you don’t have to be a LINk member to get involved.
Trafford LINk forms a task group by following the procedure below:
- Gather information to identify issues by asking local communities, people who use health and social care services, and people who provide, plan or commission services
- Prioritise which issues to take forward as issues are identified, the LINk Committee will consider whether they should be part of the Trafford LINk work plan
- Set up a task group once an issue is added to the work plan, a task group will be set up, made up of members of the public as well as LINk members and supported by the LINk staff team
- Investigation: The task group will investigate the issue concerned, by researching further information and gathering the views and opinions of Trafford’s communities
- Recommendation report or response the task group will write a report recommending action based on the findings of the investigation, which will be used to campaign for improvements or change
- Feedback throughout the process, we will keep people up to date with progress in a range of ways, including through this newsletter
- Review: We will review how the recommendations we make are used by the organisations who provide or commission health and social care services
